-Developing AI-Assisted Skills to Enhance and Create Still Images-
I recently worked on a project that takes a different approach from the traditional “Ken Burns Effect” using AI. I had an old black-and-white photo that needed to come alive for a documentary-style profile video—and while simple pans and zooms have their place, I experimented with AI tools to create something a bit more engaging and immersive.
I combined multiple AI tools with my Photoshop and Premiere Pro skills:
• Luma Dream Machine (https://lnkd.in/eSWUwS38) helped me create a vintage 1960 pilot’s desk environment, complete with an authentic photo frame.
• Vance AI (https://lnkd.in/eAweVG7J) handled the colorization of the original photo, bringing out details that black-and-white just couldn’t capture.
• Using Photoshop and Premiere Pro, I seamlessly replaced the photo in the AI-generated frame with the client’s image, then transitioned from the original black-and-white to the colorized version with dynamic zooms.
What surprised me most was how realistic the final result looked—almost like the photo had always been part of that environment.
I’d love to hear how others in this group are solving similar challenges. How are you using AI to breathe new life into archival content? Let me know in the comments if you’d like more details or if you’d be interested in seeing some project files.
