As a video content creator, I’ve experimented with many text-to-voice solutions over the years. Some, like ElevenLabs, require a paid subscription. Others, like Adobe Audition, are great for timing a read but don’t deliver the natural, nuanced narration I need for storytelling.
That’s why I was blown away by OpenAI.fm. It’s free, fast, and incredibly flexible—offering voices with a range of styles, pacing, and energy levels. At the very least, it’s an amazing tool for creating scratch tracks, but honestly, the quality is good enough for finished content in the right context.

Here’s How I Used It:
1️⃣ Picked a voice from OpenAI.fm that matched my project’s tone.
2️⃣ Refined it using a ChatGPT-assisted prompt to tweak pacing, tone, and pronunciation.
3️⃣ Generated and downloaded a final narration that sounded smooth and professional.
4️⃣ Swapped out the original voiceover in a section of a recent profile piece.
I’m attaching a 20-second demo, where I replaced the original voice track (from a previously edited piece) with an OpenAI.fm-generated narration—showcasing just how powerful and versatile this tool can be!

If you’re a video creator, this is absolutely worth experimenting with. Have you tried AI-generated voiceovers in your work? Let’s discuss!
